PACKING TIPS
What to Pack:
When deciding what to pack for a honeymoon, it's a great idea to have a detailed and thoughtout check list. Areas you want to be sure and cover are his, hers, toiletries, medications, electronics and miscellaneous. It's a good idea to also start this list about a week in advance. That way, when you've realized you forgot something, it's not too late. Items that you'll definitely need are passports, airline tickets, reservation or confirmation numbers, your driver's license, all credit cards, traveler's checks and cash, emergency phone numbers, contacts or glasses, and your itinerary. After each item has been officially packed, be sure and check it off.
Don't Over Pack:
Another common mistake made by enthusiastic and anxious vacationers is that of over packing! Be sure to go through what items are necessary versus what items are not, several weeks before your departure day. This way, when you begin packing, you're able to pack what is a "must" first and then any left over room can be applied to the items you'd like to take. Also account for how many days you'll be on vacation. And keep in mind, there are usually laundry facilities available. This is a wonderful option if you're taking a trip that's longer than 7 days and eliminates having to bring a new outfit for each day.
Identification:
One of the more important packing tips we can provide you with is that of being sure each and every bag you take with you is clearly labeled with all of your pertinent information. Most luggage bags come with the identification tag included, but if not, luggage tags are available in most general stores. You'll want to include your name, address, and telephone number. This way, should someone else take your bag, you will be able to confirm that you own the luggage.Another good tip is to put a brightly colored "marker" attached to your bag. Some traveler's put florescent yarn or string and others buy the "markers" especially made for luggage. You'll find when your bags are coming through baggage claim, they will be easily identified with something causing them to stand out. This is also a good preventative in having others mistake your bags for their own.
